Tanenbaum Keale LLP chair Michael A. Tanenbaum recently authored a column for Law.com’s Mid-Market Report on some benefits boutique law firms provide to their clients.

Tanenbaum wrote:

Although boutique law firms are not new to the legal industry, today’s boutiques offer clients specialized services performed by teams of lawyers whose skills have often been honed at Big Law firms. The ability to provide specialized legal services performed by lean carefully tailored teams utilizing innovative technological tools is compelling to clients. The specialized industry focus permits boutique lawyers to better understand their client’s business and industry and permits them to tailor solutions that look beyond just the legal challenges. Law firm clients have been asking this of their outside counsel for years. Today’s boutiques are positioned to address the issue. Big Law is not going away but today’s boutique is here to stay.
