Tanenbaum Keale LLP Chief Technologist Kenneth E. Jones will partner with Seton Hall School of Business Professor Benjamin J. Pearl to discuss ethical, legal and operational implications of current and emerging data privacy and breach regulations in a Celesq webinar on May 1, 2020.

In the past few years, organizations spanning the continuum of international political and economic unions down to individual states of the USA have implemented regulations relating to data privacy, control and the breach of such information. From HIPPA and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to more current acts such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and New York SHIELD Act, the legal industry has been required to change business processes and computing procedures to react and comply with the changing legislative landscape.

Jones and Pearl will focus their session on the current state of regulatory activity, provide current trends and best practices in the area of technology compliance, and focus on how attorneys must comport themselves in these areas as is related to ABA Model Rules on competence (1.1), client communications (1.4) and confidentiality (1.6).
