Tanenbaum Keale LLP attorney Omari Reid served as a volunteer judge for an NJ LEEP Constitution Law Debate, which provides high school students an opportunity to prepare and present arguments for a fictitious case in a formal setting. This year’s fall debate, held Wednesday in Newark, featured ninth- and 10th-grade students delivering their oral arguments – the culmination of all of their hard work analyzing watershed Supreme Court opinions, formulating persuasive arguments and drafting legal briefs during the fall semester.
Judges scored debates and provided valuable feedback to students on their strategy and performance in presenting oral arguments.
A college access and success program serving students and families in the greater Newark area, NJ LEEP (Law and Education Empowerment Project) provides college-bound programming that empowers middle and high school students with both the academic and social-emotional skills necessary to succeed in their educational and professional endeavors.
