Joseph Appio focuses his practice on insurance coverage and related litigation matters, representing insurance industry clients across a broad range of complex coverage disputes. He works collaboratively with legal teams to advise and defend insurers in matters involving commercial general liability, directors and officers (D&O), professional liability, and commercial property policies. Mr. Appio regularly evaluates and analyzes coverage issues arising under primary, umbrella, and excess policies across multiple lines of insurance, and is committed to achieving effective, results-driven solutions that protect his clients’ business interests and reputations.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Appio served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Hon. Owen C. McCarthy, P.J. Cv., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Monmouth County, where he gained substantial experience in civil litigation and judicial decision-making. He also worked on labor relations matters as a law clerk for the National Football League (NFL).
