Tanenbaum Keale LLP Chief Technologist Kenneth E. Jones recently authored an article for Legal Evolution on how legal technology has changed over the past two decades.
Jones compares and contrasts traditional IT vs. Software as a Service (Saas) vs. Platform as a Service (Paas) and how Tanenbaum Keale has implemented cloud-based technology.
“PaaS applications offer many significant inherent advantages,” Jones writes. “A law firm can leverage this approach to be integrated into a client’s key platform, allowing the corporate law department to easily communicate with other company stakeholders using the technologies present within an application (e.g. within Salesforce).”
Jones believes there is a place in the legal technology world for both Paas and SaaS applications.
